It’s All Views on Del Paso
After purchasing a fairly typical suburban home in Del Cerro, a neighborhood of sunny San Diego, these homeowners naturally wanted the California living style. With an extraordinary view from the back patio that didn’t translate into their kitchen and living area, they weren’t going to let anything stand in their way – not even a wall. So, after a short design period the wall separating them from their gorgeous view came down. With a new 24’ beam installed overhead, in its place went a large sliding glass door and window system by Western Windows. The new door opened the owner’s living room wide onto the deck. Unlike many door applications though, this system extended as the window that divides the kitchen counter and the bar outside. Opening this kitchen window allows fluent conversation, easy serving and of course reveals an expansive view.
No kitchen remodel would be complete with just a new door. Old oak cabinets were replaced with more contemporary white ones. A new leathered countertop installed, tile backsplash, and stainless steel appliances were added to complete this contemporary California kitchen remodel.
